Bell Media and Blink49 Studios Comedy Series Lab at the Canadian Film Centre Showcase

Absolutely thrilled to have showcased my teaser for “Alice is Asian” at the Bell Media and Blink49 Studios Comedy Series Lab Canadian Film Centre Showcase, alongside the 3 other brilliant members of our cohort at Ted Rogers Hot Docs Cinema.

The night opened with a funny and inspiring chat from two of our brilliant mentors Nelu Handa and Anthony Q Farrell.

There simply aren’t enough words to describe my gratitude for all the wisdom, experience, knowledge, support, and community that I was given over the last six months. Thank you to all the staff, our mentors, all the crew and production team, my cast… etc. etc. etc.

My heart was so full receiving support on a project that is so dear to me, and speaks to the raw, messy, connective and confusing experience of being mixed-race. So much of this project came from feeling I didn’t belong, and it meant the world to be seen and supported, and to get the opportunity to create a piece I’m proud of.

With that, the program wraps Friday, and we’ll be alumni, ready for your writers’ room!

The program was in partnership with Bell Media and Blink49 Studios, and is led by the incredible writer, actor and producer Nelu Handa (Late Bloomer), who serves as showrunner and lead mentor.
